BETHEL'S HISTORY

Sister Mable Bradley saw a need for a Fire Baptized Holiness Church in Tampa, Florida. After finding a place to have services, Sister Bradley asked Reverend Taylor to come and rent it. The building was rented for $75.00 per month. The place was a church building that was falling down and the yard was overgrown. Reverend Taylor renovated the building and cleaned up the yard. In 1977, the church was organized and named Bethel Fire Baptized Holiness Church of God of the Americas. At the time, there were four members: Reverend Ludell Taylor, Sister Cassie Taylor, Sister Mable Bradley and Sister Nora Dessaw.

The church was dedicated and became part of the Florida District. On October 20, 1981, the building and the two adjacent lots were purchased. Pastor Taylor made the down payment because of a lack of funds in the Trustee treasure.

In 1997, the church was remodeled on the outside. Air-conditioning and central heating were installed. The goal in 1998 was to put in new ceiling and lighting inside the church. In addition, to the renovations of 1998, there were twenty-two members added to roll including children and friends.

God has blessed Bethel FBH Church down through the years.
